At the General Election in Blackpool North & Fleetwood on 5th May 2005, 43290 votes were cast (approximately 58% of the total number of eligible voters) with the following result:

47.6%

Joan Humble (Labour): 20620 votes (-3.2%).

35.9%

Gavin Williamson (Conservative): 15558 votes (-1.4%).

12.8%

Steven Bate (Liberal Democrats): 5533 votes (+3.1%).

3.6%

Roy Hopwood (UK Independence Party): 1579 votes (+1.4%).
