Roseacre School Safety

Written by Cllr. Douglas Green on Wed 9th Aug 2006

Councillor Robert Wynne & Councillor Douglas Green have obtained a

commitment from the Council to introduce traffic safety measures adjacent to

Roseacre School ways on the neighbouring streets, many of them used as "rat

runs" by speeding motorists. Every-body wants to reduce the potential for

accidents involving young children.

Suggestions include "traffic calming" on Stonycroft and Scarsdale Avenues

and making Abbey Road safer. This follows the successful recent motion to

the Council by Councillors Wynne and Green asking for 20mph speed limits

round all our local schools.
