South Shore Hospital

The local PCT (NHS) is threatening to close wards in Victoria Hospital,

because it is short of money and yet it now plans to knock down a perfectly

sound South Shore Hospital. The local PCT (who is not accountable to

Blackpool Council) has submitted plans to build a brand new local health

centre, on the Lytham Road site. The resulting facility will replace many

doctors' surgeries and the Abbey Road Clinic. How can they claim to be short

of money when they wish to tear down good buildings and waste Millions of Pounds.

Councillors Douglas Green & Robert Wynne have been contacted by concerned

residents. Most are worried about the disruption, and the others facilities

that may be offered in a residential part of the town.

There MUST be a better way to run this town.
