Speeding traffic on Stony Hill Avenue

Written by Cllr. Douglas Green on Wed 9th Aug 2006

After complaints received from many residents in respect of the cut through

of dangerously speeding traffic on Stony Hill Avenue. Councillors Robert

Wynne & Douglas Green asked the Highways department for their ideas to

decrease the speed of the traffic. Their initial suggestion would have cost

the ratepayers £30,000. However, after consultations with local residents,

we suggested changing the priority on the Stony Hill/Dunes avenue junction.

This suggestion by your Local Councillors proposals cost the ratepayers just

£1,500.

Have you got any ideas like this, where there is a simple solution to a

traffic problem? If so we would like to hear from you.
